    Total Time 10 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 1 can tuna drained
    • 1 tbsp whipped mayo
    • 2 tsp hot honey divided
    • 2 slices bread
    • 1 each roma tomato sliced
    • 1 oz cheddar cheese sliced or shredded

    Directions

    1. In a small bowl, mix the drained tuna with mayo and 1 tsp of the hot honey. Add any seasonings you love—garlic powder, onion powder, Old Bay, salt, pepper, or paprika all work well.
    2. Optionally, toast your bread until crisp. If using the air fryer you can skip this.
    3. Divide the tuna mixture between the two slices. Top with tomato slices and cheese.
    4. Melt the cheese: Oven method: Place on a baking sheet and broil until the cheese is bubbly and melted, 1–2 minutes. Stovetop method: Heat a pan over medium, place the slices inside, cover, and cook until the cheese melts. Air Fryer: Cook at 400 for ~3-5 minutes
    5. Oven method: Place on a baking sheet and broil until the cheese is bubbly and melted, 1–2 minutes.
    6. Drizzle with the remaining hot honey. Finish with fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy!

    Notes

    • Want it extra cozy? Turn this into a full sandwich or panini.
    • No hot honey? Regular honey works too—add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you want the heat.
    • Diced red onion mixes beautifully into the tuna. Herbs that pair well: parsley, chives, dill, basil, or thyme.
